Changes to my study program

Hi everyone, hope you are well!!!

In this blog I will talk about the changes that could be made in the career of social work at the university of chile (this is the career that I study).

Regarding the curriculum I think that some subjects could be changed for others that focus more on the practice of the social worker, that prepare us to be good professionals, that teach us how we should work and practice the career. The workload could be decreased to prioritize the mental health of us, the students, without being considered lazy for demanding less study. As well as the number of years the career lasts, it could easily be reduced to 3, emphasizing what is most important. On the other hand, I do not know the infrastructure in detail, but as far as the casinos are concerned, they should be larger for the number of students that we are so that we can all eat in optimal conditions. The use of technology could be increased to be more prepared, because we hardly use it. Finally, I don't dislike the teaching methods, I would only add more dynamism and practice, since all the subjects have only theoretical classes. I would like to go to museums of memory, Sename's premises, among others, and get to know feminist groups, community works and social help.

I hope this blog has been to your liking, bye!

  1. Hi Jessi! I agree with you that in general, social science programs focus too much on theory leaving aside practice, which is more important for our professional future.
